Movie Review: Ghajini (Kiran's Ishtyle)

Now apparently, theres been a lot of hype and hullaballoo over this remake's release, so i'm surprised my mom just phoned up a theatre and got tickets...
One tip for watching Ghajini: Watch it in a local theatre where there are seats available for 25 bucks or less, its a more wholesome movie experience with advice being shouted out to the characters, and whistles at the "hero" or "heroine" 's entry or growls and catcalls at a "villian" 's dialogue of threat... plus its cheaper than going to Imax and shelling out 200 bucks for a ticket to watch madagascar 2 (a good movie btw, but the price kinda ruined it for me)...
Ghajini is the name of the antagonist (a fancy name for the "villian"). Aamir Khan is introduced to us as a bald headed, mindless, beast who seems to want to reduce India's population to half with his bare hands... A police officer's trip to his house reveals partially his past, where he romances a bubbly, cheery and slightly airheaded model, Kalpana. Aamir Khan is Sanjay Singhania, a man with retro grade amenesia, wherein he forgets everything ( except his now dead girlfriend) after 15 minutes. How he gains vengeance by killing the perpetrator Ghajini forms the rest of the plot. Jiah Khan as a medical student who helps him also has a minor yet significant role.
Watch it for:
a) A.R. Rehman's Music
b) Some really slick fight sequences
c) Asin, the lead actress
d) Fun
Stay away because
a) The bad guy may be badass but he isn't really that frightening
b) Laughs where there shouldn't be any, like the part where, Sanjay beats the shit out of six men and then forgets why he did it...
c)The do-gooder Kalpana is slightly irritating in her Miss Goody two shoes act.
d)Its basically a frame to frame copy of the Tamil/Telugu version (if your a dumbass, you might not realise that this point is only for people who haven't seen the original and/or can't understand Telugu /Tamil)

All in all, a good watch though....

Long time since a post.
with good reason too.
Now I'm sure no one actually reads this blog but anyway, I'll continue posting because I feel like it.
My dad yesterday, discovered this little bunker of mine and accosted me after dinner.
He said he found out after one of his friends told him but more than likely ( read actually), he must've seen the address in the favourites list.
Pride really does have its fall!
Worse, he mistakes the time of posts (US, I think...) to be IST and asks me what I'm doin out of bed at 6:51 A.M typing 'crap' (Yes, I have a huge ego) while I'm supposed to be asleep or in tuition or both (:D, Its a joke, dad, seriously, I pay attention during tuition).
I remember finishing wave theory of light in physics as preparation for my SAT exam, and am profoundly thinking of the time when scientists were scratching their head over whether light was a wave or particle until the dual nature theory came around. Also, I'd recommend "The theory of Everything" by Stephen Hawking as a must read for anyone wwith at least a vague interest in science or space or the origin of the universe.
I would also like to rate, When Darkness Falls, by Ruskin Bond as the most beautiful book ever written, not the best mind you

MUMBAI'S HIT!!!!

By now most of you have already seen news on tv or read the newspaper or heard from others about the recent havoc in Mumbai.... if not your either dead, not concerned (is that possible??) or under 6 years of age.
Therefore, I will not write a huge post on it for two reasons:
a) I was too late and whatever I write will be old news
b) As i am very opinionated,this is a very huge topic with various facets.
So keep checking back as I'll be composing many a post regarding this incident broken down.

For now let us remember all the heroes who gave their life to rid Mumbai of those rats and in the process, laid their lives.

It's not possible to note all their names but may their souls rest in peace over the fact that this mishap has united the people of India who are all collectively saying "JAI HIND!!".





Let us light a candle in memory of these brave souls and in light of this (I cant even stop making puns when I'm serious dammit!) let us also vow never to forget this as we did to every ohter incident after a week.
